Temporary Suspension of Food Service
We regret that we have once again had to suspend food service at The Black Swan.
Following highway works carried out by North Yorkshire Council in September 2025, our building has suffered repeated flooding and water ingress during periods of rainfall. Temporary measures previously reduced the problem, allowing us to offer a limited food service, but the recent removal of those works has resulted in water entering the building once again.
After more than eight months of uncertainty, and with no permanent solution yet in place, we are unable to operate the reliable food service that our customers expect and deserve (breakfast service unaffected).
Our accommodation and bar remain open as normal, and we continue to work towards a permanent resolution. We are grateful for the continued support and understanding of our customers and the wider community.

In our effort to provide the most authentic dishes whilst reducing our environmental impact, if ingredients are available from local producers, you can be guaranteed that this is what we will use.
