Dogs are very welcome in all public areas at The Black Swan. Unfortunately we do not currently allow dogs in the bedrooms. However we do plan to develop some dog friendly rooms in the near future.

There is a large car park to the rear of The Black Swan which is accessed from the A170. There is space for 21 cars on a first come first served basis, although we will always ensure there is space for residents. The Black Swan is a Grade II listed building dating from the 1600’s and is build over three floors. Consequently all rooms are accessed by stairs and we do not have a lift. If you have mobility issues, it would be unwise to make a room booking.

There is a large covered courtyard to the rear of The Black Swan which has seating for seating for more than 60 people. Whilst it is protected from the rain and does have heating, the sides are open and so on colder days it can be quite chilly.

If you are staying with us overnight we offer the facility to store bikes in one of our secure buildings. If you are visiting for a drink then there are places to secure your bike  at the rear of the building.

Children are welcome before 21:00 in the public areas provided they are well supervised.

We have two rooms that can accommodate three people. One of these can accommodate a child on a temporary bed if necessary. Please contact us if you need to make a booking. 01751 798209

A discretionary optional service charge of 10% is added to food bills to enable our guests to show their appreciation for the effort made by all staff working at the Black Swan in the delivery of what we hope is a memorable experience. Our staff will be happy to remove the charge if requested. All tips are shared equally with kitchen and front of house staff. For groups of 10 or more, the logistics of preparing and delivering food to the table in a short time frame requires us to increase our staffing levels in the kitchen and front of house, whilst simultaneously reducing the number of bookings we can accommodate whilst we focus on providing a high quality of service for the group. The service charge ensures that we can accommodate larger groups.
